As the official curator for the The Animal Welfare League’s new shelter building, Bear is reminding all area artists about the planned art gallery for that lovely modern facility. He asks you to consider donating a piece of your framed work for the AWL’s permanent art collection. The new building is currently under construction and will be a cheerful innovative resource with comfortable accommodations for all animals.

The public will be welcomed for adoptions, visits, volunteering, and instructional programs in the conference center.

The new resource’s cheerful environment will include four lovely interior courtyards located in proximity to the dog kennels. Individuals or families can go to any of these to relax and spend time with an individual dog or pup. People who are considering adoption can discuss specifics about a particular dog with a staff member, or volunteer puppy huggers can spend time with happy wagglers in the courtyards in the comfort of the cool building.

Cats and kittens will have cozy housing and will welcome their human friends for visits, playtimes, and purrs.

Bear eagerly anticipates showcasing local artistic talent throughout the building. AWL would like to exhibit art depicting the joy and beauty of animals, and hopes to feature paintings and photography showing domestic and wild animals, birds, and fish. A plaque will be placed with each work naming the donor artist, and the art gallery will be a permanent feature at the new shelter building. Please keep in mind that any donation is tax deductible. Bear is proud to show a sampling of the pieces he has already collected. He looks forward to the completed gallery and hope guests will plan to tour all the areas of the futuristic safe haven for Charlotte County’s homeless and abandoned animals when the grand opening is announced.
