Adoption Policy

Before adopting a pet, be sure you are ready to take on the RESPONSIBILITY of owning the type of pet that you desire and that you are aware of the County laws regarding owning a pet in your community. We can answer most of your questions here at the shelter.

Pets are a lifelong commitment and we strive to place our shelter animals in responsible homes where they will be loved and receive proper care for a lifetime.

  • Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and must show valid identification with name and current address.
  • Adopters must own their own home or if they rent, they must have written or telephone permission of their landlord.
  • If you own other pets, you must bring proof of vaccinations and rabies tag in order to adopt from our shelter.
  • The adoption fee includes a free office visit and examination at any participating veterinarian of your choice, by appointment, within seven (7) days from the date of adoption.
  • We have a seven (7) day return policy if an adoption does not work out for any reason. We will offer a one time even exchange. This will be valid for 30 days only.
    SOME RESTRICTIONS APPLY

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE AN ADOPTION
